K9 Connect offers positive reinforcement, science-based strategies to help you understand how to help your dog with their training and behaviour. We like to work with you to create an individualised plan specifically for your dog. Private consultations are offered both in the comfort of your own home, or at our location in Ferntree Gully.

We have extensive experience both with general training as well as working through more complex behavioural issues such as fear, timidity, aggression and separation anxiety. Our expertise is unique having worked exclusively with Vets and Veterinary Behaviourists, helping develop training plans and behaviour modification programs for dogs with problem behaviours and mental health issues. We also focus on the education of pet owners, trainers and other professionals, developing their knowledge and understanding of pets and pet behaviour.

We offer three kinds of Private lessons:
Stay and Train option where one of our experienced trainers works directly with your dog, setting the process of 'learning to learn' into gear! Perfect for the novice dog owner or the busy household where sometimes handing your dog over to the professional helps get the gears in motion.

Private Lessons where we work directly with you to help manage, understand and improve your dogs common training issues and challenges.
Behaviour Consultations are where dissect and discuss more complex and multi-layered issues and concerns. Behaviours such as reactivity, aggression and extreme fear. We create and develop an individualised training plan to help you manage and improve your dogs training issues and behavioural concerns.
We understand that your pet is part of your family and strive to help you achieve your goals with whatever training is required - be it general training or treating more specific behavioural concerns.

Our appointments usually begin with a sit-down chat, where we gather information about the issues you are having, what has already been attempted to address the issue and then start to piece together a treatment plan. Our goal is to help you better understand your pet, why they may be behaving the way they do, and of course the psychology behind it. From here, our following sessions are designed consolidate the treatment plan to help you practically apply the training methods discussed and taught.

In more recent times, we have also designed specialist workshops that help you work through some key behaviour concerns in a supportive community, focused around building understanding and success.
